I currently have the privilege of working as a canine trainer for the residents of Lee County Domestic Animal Services. I have also worked for and still support Animal Refuge Center, Gulf Coast Humane Society and Caloosa Humane Society.
I have been working with dogs most of my life. The first dog I ever trained was a 4 year old Dachshund named Betsy when I was 12 years old. I am a dog lover first, and a dog trainer second. I have four wonderful canine companions currently in my household and they are my best teachers. I know from first-hand experience the difference dog training makes in the relationship between dog and guardian. Without professional training it can sometimes be a frustrating relationship, but with an investment in good training a wonderful transformation can and will occur.
My training philosophy is...
- Human and Canine Bond is unique
- If it is rewarding a dog will repeat it
- Training should be fun
- If it is fun it will be repeated
- I also believe....
- We are Guardians not owners
- A commitment is for life
My training methods include...
- Positive reinforcement
